It is with profound sorrow and aching hearts that we share the passing of our beloved mother, Kelly M Mathers. After careful consideration, guided by her medical team's counsel, we made the heart-wrenching decision to remove her from life support at 3:50 PM. She peacefully slipped away at 4:50 PM, succumbing to natural causes.
On Monday, April 29th, our mother suffered a devastating heart attack at 4:00 AM. Despite her son's valiant efforts in administering life-saving measures until emergency services arrived, she was deprived of oxygen for 24 agonizing minutes. Rushed to Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, BC, in critical condition, she was swiftly stabilized by the emergency team and transferred to the ICU. Following extensive assessments and consultations with neurologists, it became painfully clear that our mother had sustained severe brain damage. The grim prognosis of less than a 1% chance of recovery left us clinging to hope while preparing for the inevitable.
Our mother was a radiant soul who touched the lives of countless individuals. Her greatest joy was found in her three sons, C**t Dick, Brandon Dick, and Bryson Dick. She delighted in capturing moments through photography, weaving memories with her crochet, and cherishing time with her family. Though her absence leaves an irreplaceable void, her spirit will forever dwell in our hearts and minds.
In honor of her memory, Sarah Rebecca has created a GoFundMe campaign to assist our family during this difficult time and to alleviate the burden of funeral expenses. Any surplus funds will be graciously donated to the SPCA in her honor. We kindly request that in lieu of floral tributes, contributions be made to the GoFundMe page.
