Experience BC Fly Fishing

British Columbia Fly Fishing Charters is the only guide service located in BC's Fraser Valley dedicated solely to the fly angler. Our expertise lies in the simple facts that we were born here, we live here and we fish here. We know their fish. Located on BC's Lower Fraser river, roughly 30 minutes from the Vancouver international airport, we are close to some of the most

productive Salmon, Trout and Steelhead water in the world. We offer guided fly fishing for Salmon, Trout, Steelhead, Char and Sturgeon on the Fraser river, it's tributaries and other close by watersheds. The waters we frequent include the Fraser, Harrison, Vedder/Chilliwack, Upper Pitt, Squamish, Lillooet and Skagit rivers. All are world renowned fisheries in their own right. We fish British Columbia's best rivers year round and our guides are longtime fly fishing pros. They know these waters intimately. We have taken the basic fundamentals of angling knowledge which have been handed down from our fathers and grandfathers and adapted them to use with the long rods. Not willing to rely on traditional methods in a changing environment, our guides are constantly refining techniques and creating new ones, exploring new waters and inventing new flies and flylines. We do this selfishly to catch more and bigger fish and to become better anglers, but it is ultimately our clients who benefit most from our fly fishing creativity. BC Fly Fishing Charters operates in a guide area that is extremely diverse and equally as rich. From spey casting to wild Sea-run Bull trout longer than your left arm on pristine mountain freestone rivers that are only accessible with helicopter or jet boat, to battling real life dinosaurs with a 16wt on a river over a kilometer wide in Vancouver's suburbs. There is more adventure here than most people fit into a lifetime. Southwestern BC's fisheries are open for 12 months of the year and there is something to fly fish for each and every month. Whether it is our 4 species of Trout, 5 species of Pacific Salmon, Char, Steelhead or Sturgeon that you are looking to target with the fly, we can help you pick the best times and get you hooked up. Yes, you read that right….Sturgeon on the fly. Imagine 8ft of prehistoric dinosaur tail walking across the river attached to you by nothing more than a fly rod, line and reel; no weight, just you and the fish. Just learning? All BC Fly Fishing Charters' guides are also first rate fly casting and fly fishing instructors specializing in both single and double hand spey techniques. We also offer group casting and fishing clinics, perfect for large groups and corporate retreats.

I told the boys to grab the biggest fly in their box this morning, so when Andy pulled out this monstrosity of chicken feathers and flash I knew he was in for a good day. Congrats Andy on a great fish and thinking big while behind the vise!

We are always picking up garbage we find on the river. Be it a beer can, discarded line or even a rusty old tire rim. The river gives us so much it is nice to give a little back and make it a better place for us having been there. Thanks to for sending us this clip. www.bcflyfishingcharters.ca.

As I write this I am still on the banks of the river. We just released this magnificent animal and I can’t help but wonder if our paths have crossed before, and if not, how close have we come. At 84cm long I am told this fish could be 18 years old and has been frequenting this river almost as long as I have been. Almost seems like a long lost friend…... So I say farewell old friend, good luck and hope we can both make it another season.
