First Suppressor prototype is done. A humbucker on a Strat footprint. Fat and warm, and quiet. No hum.

I'm giving a few away while I test them out. If you're in the Maple Ridge area and can come by the shop, DM me. First come, first serve. It's yours. All I want back is a video of you playing it and your honest thoughts on it.

Does a singers mic matter? Does a guitar pickup matter?

Working on something a little different. A humbucker in a Strat footprint. Not a stacked pickup, a true split-coil humbucker, reverse wind reverse polarity, each coil handling three strings like a P-Bass. Trying to keep that open snappy single coil character instead of the compressed humbucker thing. Winding different recipes now to see how many voices I can get out of it. Wait for it 👀🎸

Working on something a little different...

A humbucker pickup in a Strat footprint.
Not a stacked pickup. A true split-coil humbucker using reverse wind, reverse polarity for hum cancellation.

Each coil handles three strings, similar in concept to a P-Bass pickup, but packaged into a Strat-sized footprint.

The idea is to keep more of that open, snappy single-coil character rather than the more compressed sound you can get from a traditional humbucker or stacked noiseless design.

Now comes the fun part: experimenting with different winding recipes, wire types and coil heights to see just how many different voices I can get out of this design.

Wait for it. 👀🎸

Winding a single coil bass pickup. Every turn by hand. This is where the tone starts.

Neil Higgins and his Strat, loaded with a B43 Juiced set. Seeing these out on a stage never gets old. Thanks Neil!

This is where your tone actually starts. Before the pedals, before the amp. Just copper wire, magnets, and patience. A lot of guys chase tone with a new amp when the answer was sitting under their strings the whole time.
