A concerned angler took the water temps at Seal/Powerline yesterday afternoon. 24.5°C! That’s not good, getting scary now.
I heard there will be a meeting on Monday with the powers that be. Hopefully there will be a decision for temporary closure.
There are still people fishing in this heat around the lower pools. I’m here so I may as well fish!
On a lighter note tomorrow is the Margaree Highland Games. It takes place on East Margaree Road behind St Michel church. There's plenty to see and do, food, raffles, stalls etc. As well as the competitors. Starts around 10:30, bring plenty of sunscreen!

Another heat wave warning for today. The air temperature was over 30°C at the house yesterday. Not sure about water temps but not too many anglers around the river. Which was good.
I was told we’re getting good rain at the weekend, all I’ve seen forecast is the possibility of showers. Until we do get rain the salmon are best left alone. If you’ve planned coming up this weekend bring striper gear.

High temperatures expected over the next few days. With the water level back down again the lower pools will be warming up. Do check water temps and restrict your salmon fishing to early mornings.

It’s wet and windy out this morning. The extra water we had didn’t last long and on the gauge it’s below .200 again.
A good number of fish hooked over the weekend though. Now we need a couple of days steady rain.

According to the gauge, the water peaked around .290 and its at .250 now.
Took a drive around the lower river, the Forks car park loaded up, too many to count driving past. The only empty pool I saw was at Tompkins.
We did‘nt get the amount or rain we needed but we should be good fer a few days. At least the water temps should be favourable.
We are closed today and tomorrow but if anyone needs anything I’ll be around the house or out back in the garden, just honk..

A foggy start to the day, showers and thunder showers forecast, whatever! There’s also a wind warning.
A couple of lads in yesterday had a good few days upriver, 6 fish between them.
Wonder when the rain will start?

Some heavy showers yesterday and overnight, supposed to continue today ending tomorrow. Not much of a change in the water level at present.Hopefully the water temps should benefit from what we’re getting.
It’s Friday and the start of a long weekend, get out and enjoy it, drive safely.

A cooler morning, a tad windy and showers, thundershowers forecast. Be nice if we get it, will help with the water temps.

It’s another one like yesterday, hot and muggy!
A forecast of 30% drizzle tomorrow evening and 30% chance of showers during the day, won’t be enough to water the garden.
Time for the beach and some stripers.
