Sit-stand desks became a fixture of the “modern office” conversation a few years ago. And then a lot of companies bought them — and watched them stay in the sitting position all day.

The problem isn’t the desk. It’s the implementation.

Sit-stand desks work when:
✔ Employees are shown how and why to use them
✔ They’re paired with anti-fatigue matting for standing
✔ The adjustment mechanism is smooth enough that switching positions isn’t a hassle
✔ The surrounding setup (monitor height, keyboard position) is also considered
