For the past 8 years, I’ve been happy to call Marmora home and to operate my small business, Off The Porch, right here in our community.

During that time, I’ve tried to give back whenever I can supporting community events, school fundraisers, our library, the Legion, the food bank, the Angel Tree, and most recently, the Marmora Fair.

I truly believe that a strong community is built by people supporting one another. So many volunteers give their time, energy and expertise to make our local events possible, and they deserve our encouragement and support.

Small communities may be small in size, but they are filled with people, organizations and businesses with big hearts and big dreams.

So whenever you can, support local. Attend the small events. Shop at the small businesses. Thank the volunteers. Even if you can’t give your time, simply showing up is one of the best ways to show your support.

Every person through the door, every familiar face at an event, every purchase from a local business and every word of encouragement makes a difference.

Because when we show up for one another, our whole community becomes stronger.
