🚨 Marine Atlantic Ferry Service Could Face Major Changes 🚨

A new application before the Canada Industrial Relations Board is raising concerns across Newfoundland and Labrador after reports that Marine Atlantic could lose its essential service designation.

According to the NL Gulf Ferry Coalition, the move could potentially reduce ferry service by more than 90%, impacting transportation to and from the province.

The coalition says Marine Atlantic is critical for:
• Moving food and goods
• Supply chains and businesses
• Travel and tourism
• Healthcare access
• Keeping Newfoundland and Labrador connected to the rest of Canada

They warn that any major reduction in service could have serious short and long-term impacts on the province’s economy and daily life.

Marine Atlantic has long been considered part of the constitutional transportation link between Newfoundland and mainland Canada.
