People often ask if this is balayage.

It isn’t.

Just a root touch up and some sheer coverage that softens the grey without making everything one solid colour.

I like colour to have some transparency to it. Different tones catch the light differently and give it a softer grow out.

Simple colour can still be beautiful.

I remember when Anna was born. Now she’s graduating. Nolan was a toddler and now he’s grown up with a job.

I’ve done all their hair over the years. I love seeing clients grow up.

We end up talking about our kids, books, music. It’s always a good visit.

Kept her colour a rich brown. Added some soft mini lights so it doesn’t look flat and it blends better when her natural highlights come in.

This is Michelle.

Long time client… and also my vet.
Apparently life is very hard right now having to take care of two horses.

We always have a good catch up. Travel, 80s rock, a bit of everything.

Colour wise, we went bold but still kept it soft.
Nothing chunky, just blended so it still feels good as it grows.

Permanent fashion colour too, so it actually lasts and doesn’t just wash out.

She calls me a hair wizard… I won’t argue with that.

Soft overall, but with enough texture so it doesn’t sit flat.

She’s honestly just lovely. She’s been coming to me since the beginning of my career.

We’ve pretty much figured out what works.
Soften the grey on top, a bit of beige so it doesn’t look dull, and some depth and richness underneath.

Always grateful for the coffee she brings ☕️

She just moved to town, started a new job… and wanted her hair to feel like her again.

Something soft. Natural. Easy to live with.

We worked with her greys instead of against them—keeping everything blended and avoiding anything too heavy or flat.

The goal is always colour that lets the light move through it… not sit on top of it.

That’s where you get that shine. That softness. That effortless feel.
