I really enjoy making this little Unicorn. I did a slightly different technique with the mane which allowed more colour to be incorporated. I sent this Unicorn, with blessings from the universe, to keep a dear friend company on her healing journey. ❤️⭐️

Finally able to share my latest creation! These adorable minions were a birthday present to my longest and best friend. The base body and coveralls pattern was all that I liked from the original pattern, but made my own version of the gloves, feet, goggles and denim stitching. A lot of hours but was absolutely worth it watching the joy on her face while she opened them.

Meet Eli the polar bear! I have been wanting to make this pattern for a while now. He will be a part of next year's winter display on my mantle.

The snout was a challenge and the jacket was as well because I could not find the colour yarn in the gauge I wanted.

There is a small robin that goes on his shoulder, but I still trying to figure out how to make the feet (from wire) that will not damage the yarn on the jacket.

Another project done from the leftover yarn from the floor pouff order. Two mats for the bathroom.

The larger one I did keeping the 'integrity' of this 'folded' yarn. I made sure i carefully folded the yarn (trying to prevent the normal twist that happens) and it creates a very clean, flat look that's comfy on the feet.

The smaller mat I experimented with the yarn by 'unfolding it" and then 'scrunch' it together before each crochet stitch. I very very long and tedious process but I just loved the textured look it created.

This is my first attempt at designing and making a bauble stitch baby blanket.
The outer baubles are larger (with 5 strands) while the inner baubles are smaller (only 3 strands) making the bunny shape. The rest of the blanket is a simple single crochet.

This was my gift to my husband this year. A cover for his favourite chair using a pure wool yarn combined with a thinner polyester to soften the look and feel.
I used the Alpine stitch for the main section and added a felt upper shoulder that allows for a velcro'd opening to go around the head rest support stems.

This was another request by my daughter for a bed throw. Done in an alpine stitch using Bernat Blanket yarn.
Originally I calculated the yardage using a simpler stitch. Unhappy with my original stitch I changed it to the Alpine giving it a much bulkier and softer look.
The Alpine stitch does use up more yarn, and when I went back to get more they were all sold out. Solution: add stripes!
Turned out gorgeous!

My daughter had requested that I make her a floor pouff (aka footstool) and so I had to make one for my son too.
I could not find a pattern for what I had in mind so I created my own.
This ottoman has a zipper that is fairly unnoticeable when on the floor. I used Zpagetti yarn which is a t-shirt yarn, perfect for softness and washability.
The inner portion consists of two pillows and a buffer ring encased in a sack with a drawstring. This allows for replacement of the pillows should the need arise. I make the buffer ring to help the aesthetics of the ottoman not 'fold' in the horizontal centre once you placed your feet on it.
The stitch is a simple single crochet. Any other stitch, or stitch pattern created too much bulk and stiffness which made it uncomfortable for resting your heels on it.

As soon as I saw this pattern it made me smile so I just had to make it!
The body and trunk are all one spiral crochet allowing the trunk to stay upright without any additional wire support on the inside.
The hardest part was the actual daisy flower. In order to make the petals I had to individually hide a small wire in each one so that the flower looks as it would in the garden. Each petal was made individually and sewn onto the main stem. A tedious task but well worth it.

I love the comparison of these two bunnies. One was a baby shower gift and the other for Easter.
It is a great visual of how much of a difference yarn can make. The pattern is exactly the same, but each yarn required a different size hook. I usually go down one half of a size from whatever the yarn label recommends. The tighter stitches make for a clean look once the bunnies are filled with stuffing.
