Did you know hummingbirds can remember their favorite flowers? 🐦🌸

They keep track of which flowers they’ve visited and can even remember roughly how long it takes for them to refill with nectar. 💚

So when they fly away from an empty flower and come back later… they’re not forgetting.

They’re just waiting for dinner to be ready. 😊

The step: its not too late to plant them in the fall! 🌿🍂

Fall is actually one of our favourite times to plant perennials!

The cooler air means less stress on the plants, while the soil is still warm enough for roots to keep growing and getting established before winter. 🍂

And don’t be too quick to clean up!

Leave some perennial stems, seed heads and plant material standing over winter. They provide shelter and habitat for beneficial insects and pollinators! 🐝🦋

Plus, those dry seed heads can look pretty darn good in the winter garden. ❄️🌾

So yes, plant those perennials… and maybe leave things a little messy this fall. 😉

A little untidiness can be a very good thing for your garden!
