Paint night at Cedar Brook Flower Farm!

Ready to learn real painting techniques and create something beautiful?… There’s something special about slowing down and creating art right where the flowers are grown. Our guided paint night will take place right in the fields of our flower farm, giving everyone a chance to paint with the actual flowers as their backdrop. Simple, relaxing, and a really memorable night out in the farm fresh air.

*Sip & Paint Update: We are currently working on our liquor license! Keep an eye out for updates—we hope to be able to serve a little liquid inspiration at the event.

Come spend an evening at the farm with Timea Hart! With 13 years of teaching experience and an OCT qualification, Timea is an expert at breaking down art theory and technique into fun, easy-to-digest steps.

For this workshop, she’ll guide us through a stunning “Dandelion Dreams” piece, while encouraging everyone to experiment and adapt the painting to their own personal style.

The Project: A whimsical, dreamy dandelion painting.

About the Instructor: Timea Hart is an OCT-qualified art teacher with 13 years of teaching experience. She brings rich art theory and technique into her classes in a way that is easy, fun, and completely adaptable to your individual style.

Over two hundred pounds of beautiful fresh veggies were harvested from our garden today, and just like all of the produce from our garden, it will be making its way to local sanctuaries over the coming days to help feed their animal residents.

Some morning pics from the flower field, including a very exciting sighting in the sunflower rows. The crows and rabbits were no match for our pure unadulterated determination to make sure our vision of rows upon rows of sunflowers came to fruition.

We've also got Cosmos and Zinnia arriving to the party this week, and the dahlia beds are really hitting their stride. It's a rainbow of flowers from the pom-poms to the dinner plate varieties, and they're breathtaking.

Field maintenance will be the focus this week. It's time for midsummer fertilizer to keep those blooms bright and their stems strong, and to tackle some weeds that have crept into places where they're not welcome. We have avoided the use of herbicides in the flower field and hope we can continue to do so. It just means a bit more manual labour to get those stubborn weeds under control, but it should get easier as the field and our skills mature.

We've also got a big delivery coming on Thursday, and a big delivery to go out on Friday, so we know this week will fly by before we know it. It will be time to start our fall seedlings very soon, too, and just like that, it'll be September and we’ll start to wind down from our first open season as a flower farm.

We have a lot to accomplish between now and then, though, so I’m gonna stop to smell these flowers one more time, then we have to get back to work.

We're starting the week off with a
Morning delivery to our friends at Venvi Brikdale Place retirement home.

We also arranged to meet with their activity coordinator to discuss other ways we can help, including providing plugs for their own cutting garden next spring, and hosting day trips for residents to come visit the farm. 👌❤️

I'm absolutely loving this new aspect of our farm. This is what Operation Angels and Cedar Brook Flower Farm are all about.
