The Itty Bitty Yarn Co.

The Itty Bitty Yarn Co. Hi I’m Karen. I am the owner of The Itty Bitty Yarn Co. I hope you’ll stop in and say hi. Don't know how to knit or crochet, or its been a while? Don't fret.

My favourite things to do, is to launch others into the world of knit and crochet, in a relaxed, patient and fun environment. What started out as a small Mississauga based shop, that moved to private lessons in my basement, after moving to Listowel, has evolved once again, into a brick and mortar location. Located in Mitchell, ON, and measuring in at just over 200sqft, the shop is aptly named The

Itty Bitty Yarn Co. As a proud Canadian, the goal is to source inventory from Canadian-based, indie dyers, and support their small businesses. Our inventory is made up, primarily of high quality, unique, finger-weight yarns, which can be used to create one of a kind socks, shawls, hats, etc. By pairing with a complimentary solid yarn, thus increasing the gauge, the possibilities are endless. One-on-one classes are available, for those 10 to 100+. Looking for something to do? Grab your knitting or crocheting project, and come visit. Coffee is always on. Watch this page, for additional activities being offered.

Nice to meet so many new fibre friends, from far and wide.
Popping in tomorrow? It’s International Knit/Crochet in Public Day.
We will be gathering around a common goal tomorrow. It’s our Crafting for a Cause event. This is a monthly event, where we sit together, creating poppies for the Legion Poppy Installations. We will meet from 12-2pm. Bring your hook or needles. Make one or two while you’re here.

This Have a Ball Yarn Crawl Haul (that’s a mouthful/stashful) was shared today.
What does your haul look like?

Naturally curly hair, lots of it, and humidity. Ugh. No elastics on hand at the shop, so a reusable zip tie from dying yarn works just fine.

It's been a busy week already, dying yarn, accepting deliveries, and restocking after a busy week. To date, 115 Have a Ball Yarn Crawl participants have travelled to Mitchell. It has been a fun couple of weeks, meeting you all. There are still 3 weeks remaining in the crawl.
Saturday is Knit in Public Day, and as such, we will once again be gathering for our Craft for a Cause - Poppy Project. People visiting the shop have been impressed by the bin full of poppies. They are shocked to find out that here are even more in the storage room. The goal is 1500 poppies. I'm sure we will easily surpass that number.
Hope you have a great week.
