A lot of people have been asking me about “junk journaling”. What they see online, or on social media, shows them people literally just gluing paper or “junk” into a journal, and they don’t really get the point of it. To each their own! Some of those junk journals are amazing! BUT…
For me, journaling is like scrapbooking but in a journal. Compared to scrapbooking, where I feel my pages/creations have to be “perfect”, with journals, I just let my imagination go. I use a lot of recycled paper, stickers, ribbons, paper I crimped before gluing, etc. I use photos and postcards, mostly I make pages of things I love. In these photos, you see Al Pacino, my dog Dylan I had in my 20’s, Bob Dylan, Art, etc. All things that are in a “souvenir” box that I now get to create something with.
All that being said, it’s what you want it to be. Just glue things you like, photos that are lying around, etc. Let your creativity flow. It’s fun.
I still love Scrapbooking. I try to be less picky about my work and let my creativity flow on these now.
Creating is a huge part of me. I’m enjoying it.
Let me know if you prefer scrapbooking or “junk” journaling!
