This is some of the hawthorn wood that I received several weeks ago. It had a lot of cracks and decay in it and didn’t yield me to what I would hoped it would for my pen making. These squares will go on for further drying before they can be used to make pens. I have more slab pieces drying and I’ll cut them into squares later in the Fall or Winter. Hoping I can get better quality heartwood out of some of the others. 🌳✍️

As a pen maker, I want to give a HUGE shout out to the craft shop owners and managers! I often see shops promoting the products in their shop. Personally, I am in several shops, mostly on “The Island” but also some on the mainland. Without these shop owners and cooperatives I would be no where! I think I can speak for most crafters when I say “We love you and appreciate everything you do for us as individuals.” We’re all fortunate to have you presenting the talents of local Artisans. Thank you shop owners and managers! 🧡 🌳 ✍️

Our 2026 season has been exciting so far and it's been a busy one!
We love showing visitors the talent of our Artisans and we love it when a person finds something that they want to take home as a "piece of PEI".
We love meeting our visitors, whether they have been here before or are visiting us for the first time. So far this year, we've had visitors from Ireland, Ukraine, Switzerland, Aruba, England, USA and Canada.
You might come to PEI for the beaches 🏖 or the seafood 🦞🦀, but there is always time to find arts and crafts made by locals and available at Artisans Waterfront Market.
We are open Mon-Sat 10-5, Sun 12-5
