A few stills of the Lander shorts. They give me 70’s✌🏽☮️ and 💜❤️ vibes. I widened the leg pieces quite a bit so if you make them for yourself keep in mind the leg is typically more narrow unless you alter the pieces otherwise. Il they also call for a 2cm SA which is a bit much in my opinion, so if you’re short on fabric you can remove some yardage by reducing the seam allowance.

A day at villa D’Este! This post isn’t really to show any clothes I’ve made- although I did make these pants a while back. I just wanted to share a beautiful day spent in a beautiful town In A country that I adore.

My last make of 2022 and first post of 2023 are these pants. I used a dark blue medium weight denim to realize these pants and it’s the exact look I was going for! The strap detail at the hem is unlike anything I already made/own, so I appreciate this little unique detail. I used snaps for closures, although a button hole with buttons would’ve worked as well. I made these pants in a straight size 36 without any adjustments.

A match made in heaven ✨
blouse with the cargo pants. I realized after I finished both pieces that I chose a pink topstitching for the cargo pants which matches the pink of the blouse almost identically . It was not intentional but it turned out to be a perfect and coincidence!!

The only modification I made was to the pants, and it was to excluded the toggle-tie hem. I wanted to do it but I didn’t have a toggle tie and felt like the pants look just as good without it. I made a straight size 36 in the pants and a 34 in the top. The top runs large (it’s meant to be oversized) but if you’re between sizes I think you could size down.

Both top and bottom fabric are from the blue is a stretch twill that I found in their clearance section. The tag said 100% unknown fibres. I think it’s a cotton blended with some sort of elastic. The pink is a 100% cotton poplin.

Trying to make the most of these last few weeks of warm weather with the help of my sewing machine ☀️😎

These shorts are the by they are fairly quick and easy to whip up and what I particularly loved were all of the options the pattern offers; ruffles or no ruffles, a front over skirt or no over skirt, an elastic waistband or an invisible zipper. There is also an option to make a looser version or a more fitted version. I made a loose version however I excluded the ruffles and used an invisible zipper closure instead of an elastic waistband.

This fabric is from my favourite fabric market that I picked up on one of my layovers in Rome. It feels and looks like a cotton/rayon and the print is one of a kind 🤩 luckily I bought four meters so be expecting to see it again soon! 😉

Making the most of strawberry season 🍓🍓🌸🌸

This is the dress made in a cotton and lined with a silk polyester. Thé pattern suggests a medium or heavier weight fabric, however I went ahead and made it in a lighter weight cotton. I figured since it’s lined it would add a little bit of structure, which it does. The only negative to using this fabric is that it does slightly ride up when walking. I’m sure with a heavier fabric that problem would be avoided.

All in all, I do not regret using this sweet print and the dress came out just as I had imagined in my head! I had been wanting a fun fruit dress for no reason other than I think they’re cute. 😊

This fabric is from none other than the amazing which I purchased many months ago on a grey and rainy day in Vancouver, dreaming of summer. Now here we are, 32 degrees and humid as all else in Montreal…. be careful what you wish for 😂 just kidding I love the heat and humidity curls my hair so no complaints from me. 😅

Yesterday I took my for a bike ride to the river and Dom managed to snap some pictures for me. Well I didn’t intentionally take my shirt for a bike ride, I just wore it to wear on my bike ride 😂

I can’t believe it took me so long to hop onto the bandwagon that is this pattern. It’s really all it’s cracked up to be. It’s fun and playful, has puffy sleeves and a peplum hem, can be any length you want it to be. What’s not to love?

I think the only thing I love more than this pattern is the fabric I used to make it. If I could only sew with one fabric for the rest of my life it would be this cotton. I have washed this and worn it, I have biked and travelled in it, I have sweat in it (🫠🫠) and it’s still so soft and vibrant and lovely yet durable as the day I bought it at …..plus the floral print is adorable 🥰

Still very much on a high with this top. You know that feeling of *utter satisfaction* when something you did comes out 1000% perfect and better than you even imagined? I feel that way about this top. In fact I love it so much that It’s still on display on my dress form rather than hanging in the closet because I just love looking at it 😍

Happy Valentine’s Day!

I used to not care too much about this commercialized day, but after the last few years of global doom and gloom, I feel like we absolutely should take any opportunity to add a bit of fun and celebration to our days ❤️

Whether you celebrate Valentines with a special someone or not, I hope you take the time to do something that makes you feel the love today because that’s what it’s all about- spreading love and feeling love, not just romantic love!

My mom and I went to grab a burger and fries together because who doesn’t love a burger and fries amiright?!

I wore my newest make which was inspired by Valentine’s Day and the upcoming spring season with this pink and white floral cotton. 🌸

I used some bridal elastic looping as the button closure and spent about 2 hours in the fabric store trying to decide on the right buttons. I finally settled on these little pink pearlized ones that play on the pink in the fabric.

I’m in love with this top and wearing it definitely made me feel the love 💕 during this love season
