Above Boutique Spoutnik, a few steps from Parc La Fontaine, is a furnished apartment with the same oddball intelligence as the shop below.

It is a classic Montreal place: old wood floors, white-painted trim, generous rooms, a little balcony lost in greenery. There are two bedrooms, a large eat-in kitchen, two sitting rooms, each with a place to work, and a small bathroom with a clawfoot tub.

Like the boutique downstairs, the apartment does not belong to one period. It has a sense of humour, a taste for the unexpected, and a fondness for things that have already lived a little.

A century ago, the building was a rooming house. A small trace remains: the number 6, still above the door of the second bedroom.

Available for mid-term rental, with leases up to one year. A special spot for someone in Montreal for work, a creative project, a sabbatical, a renovation, or any longer stay that calls for more character than a standard furnished rental.

Dogs welcome. Humans considered on a case-by-case basis.
