Presented through a selection of three photographs from the original nine-piece series this is
NOT a party by Alexandre Fortes, these works capture moments of celebration and collective
expression.

Fortes began this body of work while photographing an unexpected Carnival parade in Rio de
Janeiro in 2007. As the parade moved through the streets of Ipanema, it briefly paused everyday
life, transforming the familiar into something new. The streets became a space where new
encounters, connections and stories could take shape.

Across his practice, Fortes turns his lens toward the human experience, often finding unique
moments, tension and unexpected beauty at the heart of everyday life.

Présentées à travers une sélection de trois photographies tirées de la série originale de neuf
œuvres this is NOT a party par Alexandre Fortes, ces œuvres capturent des moments de
célébration et d’expression collective.

Fortes a commencé cette série en photographiant un défilé de Carnaval inattendu à Rio de
Janeiro en 2007. Alors que le défilé avançait dans les rues d’Ipanema, brièvement mettant la vie
quotidienne sur pause, transformant le familier en quelque chose de nouveau. Les rues sont
devenues un espace où de nouvelles rencontres, connexions et histoires pouvaient prendre forme.

A collaborative exhibition bringing together artists from Rukh Art Hub and Galerie Angelina — Ukrainian, Armenian, and Montréal voices in dialogue across diaspora and place.

Rooted in folklore and the peasant imagination, this exhibition explores storytelling as transformation: dreamlike narratives where characters move between worlds, real and imagined. From atmospheric abstraction to embodied form, the works trace a path of magic, memory, and metamorphosis.

This work by Won Ch. Kimetarx is a temple of divine or**sm. A ph***ic form extending from one building is inserted into an opening within the same structure, forming a unified shape. This building constructs a myth of true radical joy, enabling both male and female or**sm simultaneously. This extreme pleasure is witnessed by the sphinx and the staff of Oedipus.

Cet œuvre par Won Ch. Kimetarx est un temple de l’or**sme divin. Une forme phallique s’étendant depuis un bâtiment est insérée dans une ouverture au sein de la même structure, formant une form unifiée. Ce bâtiment construit un mythe de la véritable joie radicale, permettant simultanément l’or**sme masculin et féminin. Ce plaisir extrême est observé par le sphinx et le bâton d’Œdipe.

Chair de Kaneius by Rox G

These fragments of an altered body blur the lines between mythical references of metamorphosis and the physical reality of transition. They evoke a mixture of euphoria and dysphoria in the physicality of the transformed body and the gaping wound found within it, all set within a latent imaginary space.

This tension stems from the way the body is depicted on and within the canvases. It is fragmented, transformed, and marked by the physical traces of transition. The anatomy almost merges into a whole through its mutations, the vast expanses of colored skin, and the gaping wound.

Chair de Kaneius par Rox G

Ces fragments d’un corps altéré floutent les références mythiques de la métamorphose à la réalité physique d’une transition. Ils suscitent un mélange d’euphorie et de dysphorie dans la physicalité du corps transmuté et de la plaie béante qui s’y retrouve, le tout dans un espace imaginaire latent.

Cette tension émane du traitement du corps sur et dans ces toiles. Il est fragmenté, métamorphosé, marqué par les traces charnelles de la transition. Son anatomie se fond presque en un tout par ces mutations, ces grandes étendues de peau colorée et l’ouverture de la plaie.
