It is with very heavy hearts that we must announce the closure of the Oba Yo Thrift Shop.

We knew going into this that it was a huge risk and we're stacked against the odds. And unfortunately, we were defeated.

In order for this company to work, we needed to have the FULL support from the community and unfortunately that just was not so. To the point where there are actually a group of people that have boycotted us.

We want to thank all the absolutely incredible people that helped us along the way. Erin and John, you two are legends and I will never forget what you have done for us.

Thank you to everyone that's donated and shopped and encouraged us from the beginning. This has been a massive learning experience for us and has better equipped us for the future.

As most of you know, we started this project with a lot of help. Our landlord made us an incredible deal and has been amazingly supportive.

Unfortunately, we have not been generating enough sales to cover operations so we have not been able to donate anything to the Pembina Valley Childcare Centres.

To help with this, we have created a gofundme to raise funds to cover the costs for the shop for a couple months so that the revenue generated can be donated!

It's been a slow start and we have seen a lot of support, but if this doesn't work we may have to rethink our pricing structure and raise the prices of our products ($10 and under for everything?)

If you have any other suggestions or ways to help, please reach out and let us know!
