🌿 Every great garden has strong roots.
As we celebrate 50 years of Windermere Garden Centre, we're taking a moment to recognize the family whose passion, dedication, and hard work helped shape so much of what Windermere has become.
The story began with Rick’s parents, who first purchased the garden centre and planted the seeds for what would become a cherished part of the Muskoka community. Rick and Colleen later carried that vision forward, dedicating decades to growing the business with exceptional care, knowledge, and a genuine love for both gardening and the people they served.
Five years ago, that legacy entered a new chapter. After decades of stewardship by the Emmons family, Windermere Garden Centre passed into the hands of Arnie Coulson, Adam Fitzmaurice, and Jamie Doran. Under their ownership, Windermere has remained proudly local, carrying forward the spirit and values on which it was built while ensuring this special place continues to grow for generations to come.
As we mark this incredible 50-year milestone, we extend our heartfelt thanks to the Emmons family for planting the roots, nurturing the business, and helping make Windermere Garden Centre what it is today. And to Arnie, Adam, and Jamie, thank you for believing in its future and giving the next chapter of Windermere the opportunity to flourish.
