The Discourse sending some love our way!.
One of Nanaimo’s worst kept secrets is that the city is a fantastic place for record collectors with multiple stores such as Fascinating Rhythm, Sound Heritage and Noise Agony Mayhem stocking a huge selection of LPs every day.
But for those harder to find rarities you have to go to record shows and connect with the collectors and dealers that don’t necessarily own a storefront or come from other communities.
Nanaimo’s 10th Annual Record Show, happening this Sunday in the Bowen Park Auditorium, is a great place to dig through the crates and look for your buried musical treasures and talk with other collectors and vinyl enthusiasts.
With at least 344 feet of records, according to organizers, it would be longer than a football field if you stacked them beside one another.
You will find me looking through the punk, soul and ska sections or enjoying some jerk chicken from Nanaimo’s only Jamaican joint, the JLA food truck.
Hope you have a great weekend,
