Latest update;
Still looking into new venues for Cedar swap Meet, and with COVID getting high numbers again, it will at least Early 2022 before the SWAP MEET will consider reopening

Writing this to share with the community

On June 2 , the Board of Directors of the Cedar Community Hall Association held a meeting to discuss hall rentals. After due consideration it was voted on and carried that the " Swap Meet at the Cedar Hall" has outgrown the hall.
The Board has decided that the Cedar Community Hall Association WILL NOT BE entering into new contract with " the Swap Meet at Cedar Hall".
So after 18 years of bringing the community together , the Cedar Swap Meet will be endeavouring to look for an alternative new possible location if it is to continue to operate .
It has been my privilege to meet so many wonderful people and characters while operating the Swap Meet. You are my extended family!

After due consideration, it was voted on and carried that the event known as " the SwapMeet at Cedar Hall " has outgrown the hall and the Cedar Community Hall Association WILL NOT Be entering into a new contract for the operation of the " Swap Meet at Cedar Hall"!
So after 18 years of bringing the community together at the Cedar Hall , the Swap Meet will have to be looking for a new Location if it is to continue the operate!??!
I have had the privilege of meeting so many wonderful and interesting characters , that have visited the Swap , and have missed our Swap meet Family this past year !

The Cedar Community Hall now one of the COVID 19 vaccination centres for south Nanaimo.
VIHA has rented the hall from now until mid September .
So on that note the "Swap Meet " will not be able to possibly be open until the end of September 2021.

Final update for 2020!
It is with great sadness that are announcing that the Swap mMeet at Cedar Hall is done for the year! :(
Health authorities are still suggesting that social gatherings larger than 50 people are not ideal.
So at this time the Cedar Hall Board of directors has made the decision that there will be no social gathers larger than 50 people, such as weddings , funerals, celebrations, including the a Swap Meet , will not be able to rent the hall.
So stay safe, stay calm , and be kind , as we navigate through these unusual times!

* update* The board of Cedar Hall has made the decision to keep HALL CLOSED to events greater then 50 people as to health authorities suggestions. At this time the SWAP MEET will not be reopening until health authorities give the ok for gatherings of at least 100-150 people .

Hi y' all ,
Meeting with board of directors of Cedar Hall beginning of July to see if it will possible to do some kind of swap meet outside only? Fingers crossed that we can come up with a safe plan! Stay tuned......

Update for this week, Cedar Comm. Hall us still closed to all events. This includes the Swap Meet. The board of directors will look at the possibility of reopening the hall at the end of June. So until then stay safe

Good morning everyone,
The Cedar Community Hall is closed until the end of June, this includes the Swap Meet.
They will be reassessing the situation at that time. The suggestion by health authorities is no gathering of 50 or more people, due to the possible spread of the a Corona virus.
Cross our fingers and we shall see in time.....
