Windowseat is proud to sponsor Boy Player, written and performed by Frank Moher. On April 23, 24, 25 at 7:30 pm and April 26 at 2:00 pm. Western Edge Theatre was kind enough to give us a discount code and we want YOU to come see it!

Moving, surprising, and often unexpectedly funny, Boy Player is the true story of what happened when Frank Moher was orphaned as a kid, and suddenly found himself transplanted from Edmonton, Alberta to New York City. It’s also about how finding your passion, or passions — in Frank’s case, theatre, and a young woman named Diana who had been through similar experiences as a child — can change and maybe save your life.

Filled with great musical theatre songs and sometimes deeply emotional, Boy Player will touch your heart, and lift it, too.

What audiences are saying: “Boy Player is a heartfelt and touching portrayal that made me laugh, cry (tears of awe and wonder of a life), and left me feeling grateful for all the people in my life. And grateful for great show tunes.”

Happy BC Book Day! 📚✨

Pictured here is just the start of a stack of beautiful books. If we piled up every book about BC or by a BC author, we’d have to feature half the store… so you better come in and check out the rest for yourself!

And a reminder that two wonderful BC authors will be at the store on Saturday afternoon to sign books. Come see Haley Healey from noon to 1pm and Liz Hammond-Kaarremaa from 1pm to 2pm during our Indie Bookstore Day celebrations! 🎉

Book Signing with Phoebe Wang 📖⚓️

We are thrilled to host author and poet Phoebe Wang at Windowseat Books on Thursday, April 23rd from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM.

In RELATIVE TO WIND Phoebe Wang delivers a poetic rendering of her decade-long journey of learning to sail and a deep dive into what it means to be a newcomer to an old tradition. From working alongside crewmates in tempestuous conditions to becoming an avid racer and organizer to drafting a wistful love letter to a Wayfarer dinghy-while examining the loose tether between- sailing and a creative life-Wang delivers a book for sailors and would-be sailors that is thoughtful and surprising at every tack.
