Welcome to The Toy Factory! We are located in New Glasgow PEI on route 13. We are open Monday to Saturday 9 to 5 and Sunday 9 to 4. You can also shop our online store 24/7!!

Today we are crafting the old-fashioned dancing man! The dancing man is a traditional toy that has delighted young and old for centuries. Like many traditional toys, the dancing man achieved its peak popularity in the 1800s, before the radio captured the attention of families gathered in the parlour after the evening meal.

but the dancing man is still part of a Saturday night get together in many rural areas of the maritime and Quebec, when the fiddles and accordions keep toes around a kitchen stove until the wee hours of the morning

Our dancing man is made from island Pine and we would burn his fine details. He is easy to use by all ages and brings delight to any room or party. No dancing. Man is exactly alike. Each has their own unique character.

all of our toys are handcrafted with locally sourced wood, left plain and fully natural as much as possible, and are guaranteed for life.

Welcome to The Toy Factory! We are located in New Glasgow PEI - and really are a toy factory! Open 9-5 Monday to Saturday and 9-4 on Sundays!

In our workshop you may see us creating our world, famous pull toy The Block O Dile! Made from island maple and lobster trap cord - this innovative original design has been keeping toddlers in Joy mode since 1972! The Block-O-Dile was created by founder Al Schumate who took pride in its square wheels and never-fall-over ability.

These pull toys are great for little ones between 0-2 but can sometimes extend to 3/4! The Block-O-Dile also loves off roading and being brought out in the world. With the hard wood wheels and the lifetime guarantee ;) the only outcome is amazing… when the blockodile goes grocery shopping, or on the hike, or to the beach … 🥳

We have only replaced a few of these toys over the years. Mostly family dog mishaps or … they were just loved and played with soooo much their wheels turned round (which would take a lot!) 😊
