Our long time partners have some lovely farewell messages for us, that we’d love to share with you! ❤️

We are saddened by the news of Villages Canada's closure. We will be ever grateful to you and the staff of TTV Canada who have, for years been part of our lives. Your commitment and dedication to promote our products and sell them across Canada have changed the lives of our women in a very positive way and will never be forgotten. Breaking the news to the women will surely be very hard. We hope that even with the closure, you will still keep in touch with us and whenever you come to the Philippines, you will visit or give us a call. We will surely miss you all, but then again we are so ever grateful for the support you have given. Keep in touch. :-)

Keeping You Connected! We were only able to bring you Mata Traders for a short time, but we know you loved it and want to be sure that you are able to order these fabulous fair trade clothes when we are gone! Follow them on Facebook! http://ow.ly/nCr450zQxpG

We understand that the impacts of our closure will be felt by many of our makers in many communities around the world and we wanted to be able to do something to help minimize this impact.
We are happy to say that we are able to allocate a sum of money to be distributed to each group as a one-time donation, we know that it will not replace our orders, but our hope is that it will help you be able to continue your social programs and support the makers as you walk out this transition! How it all began for Mai Vietnamese Handicrafts…

Founded by three women who were brought together after surviving the Vietnam War, ‘when it was impossible to do anything but survive’, said Tran.
Phuong My, Thi Le Khanh, and Tran Ai believed if they could lift themselves out of poverty, they could help others do the same.
In 1990 they founded Mai Vietnamese Handicrafts to support artisans from neglected families and empower women to become economically self-reliant.
Today, Mai not only provides work for artisans but supports groups with educational funding for children and healthcare for all. They fund community development activities, including clean water projects, vocational training, and teacher wage subsidies. Celebrating the Successes of Kumbeshwar Technical School (KTS). KTS in Nepal, provides vocational training to students in areas such as carpentry and carpet weaving. KTS also operates a primary school and day care. As adults graduate from the program, they can work with directly KTS or receive help establishing workshops of their own. This is another benefit of supporting fair trade organizations. Learn more about KTS online here: http://ow.ly/bp2y50zPvob
