Super excited to announce that August 8th is our Summer Horror Spotlight! If you know me you know the horror genre is special to me, so I really wanted this spotlight to be special and have managed to get a group of creators I’ve been a fan of for a long time and am beyond excited to have in the shop. Joining us will be 𝐒𝖚𝖘𝖕𝖎𝖗𝖎𝖆 𝐕𝖎𝖑𝖈𝖍𝖊𝖟 Lee Howard Kristin Handley Michael Schwartz and Andrew Barr for a day where we celebrate all things horror and spooky. It’s been a great summer for horror so we want to keep riding that train. And I have to give a special shoutout to my friend Matthew Therrien with whom this spotlight came together but unfortunately can’t join us for the day (never fear we will have him back in the shop soon!).

So if spooky season, horror, or just great stories and art are your thing make sure to save the date and swing on by to celebrate the genre with us here at Wayside Comics & Cocktails on Main Street Newmarket

This Thursday at 3pm we launch into a new venture where it all started for Wayside. In our backspace which once housed us, and our bar, we are launching the Poke Lounge in tandem with our friends from Fuzzy ! Taking what we do here with comics, but translating it to the TCG community. The Poke Lounge will predominantly be run by Dave and Jasmine, and we are collectively looking to make a community space where you can get all your TCG needs with a focus on Pokemon, but also hang out, make some friends, rip some packs and build community. It all starts at 3pm this Thursday July 16th!

This is a living project so the shop will adapt and change as we settle into things, and for the first few weeks it will be operating Thursday to Saturday.

So follow The Poke Lounge to get all the updates and see what we’ve got going on at 198A Main St S, door on Botsford St.
