It's Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada!
Freakshow Comics will be CLOSED tomorrow so we can all celebrate our harvest and our beautiful country with our families and friends for a little bit longer.
As usual, we will be closed Monday, but will reopen as usual on Tuesday.

In honour of National Day of Truth and Reconciliation, we at Freakshow Comics acknowledge our history and the atrocities rendered against the Canadian indigenous population in the name of colonization and religion.
Today, come in and pick up Gord Downie and Jeff Lemire's masterpiece, Secret Path. All proceeds will go to The Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund which provides access to education on the true history of Indigenous peoples in Canada and the true history and legacy of residential schools.

ZUPAN, Jean Carole (nee Ritter)

Jean joined her energy to our universe after many years of fighting every manner of disease and infection. There was no warrior as strong as her.

Jean was born and raised in Port Colborne, formally educated in Toronto where she returned as a master beautician, proudly working at the Bon Ton in Port Colborne for decades, starting her own home hairdressing business after adopting her daughter and dedicating her everything to being the best wife, Mom and Nana in the world.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Keith, her precious grandson, Julian, her best friends of 50+ years, Carol and Joyce, and her newest best buddy, Bruce the cat.

Jean is predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Bob (Zupe), her sister and brother-in-law (Goldie and Jim), her parents, Bertha and Alex, and her beloved, Dude.

She was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan and bingo player with an amazing sense of humour, and a heart as big as Canada.

Cremation has taken place. She will be laid to rest, in a private family graveside service beside Bob, at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Port Colborne at a future date.
