Happy Releaseaversary

Eminem - The Marshall Mathers LP

Eminem's Third Studio album was released on this day back in 2000 as well. With singles THE REAL SLIM SHADY, THE WAY I AM, and STAN (with Dido) this album sold just under 1.8 million copies in it's first week.

This album and the lyrics to Kill You, almost got Eminem banned from Canada during the Anger Management tour with Limp Bizkit.

Happy Release - aversary to one of the best debut albums ever.

A Perfect Circle's - Mer De Noms came out on this day May 23,2000.

Both Billy and Maynard say this band is equal to Maynard's other band, and with only 4 studio albums in 20 years (3 in just under 4 years and then Eat the Elephant back in 2018), that's probably pretty close.

While the lineup has changed here and there, the spirit is the same with Howerdel providing the music and production and Keenan providing the lyrics and arrangements.

Some members of note on this album include Josh Freese (currently behind the drum kit for the Foo Fighters) Troy Van Leeuwen (who joined Queens of the Stone Age on tour in 02 [in between APC albums] and is still kicking ass on tour) and one of my personal favorite bass players Paz Lenchantin (who has been in Zwan, Entrance, The Pixies (whom she left in early March of this year)

If you don't own this album and like the music of any of the bands I have mentioned in this post, give it a good listen, it really (in my honest opinion) is one of the best rock albums of the early 2000s.
