I’ve come to understand that blessings don’t always arrive vividly. Often, they show up in small, ordinary everyday moments, the ones we almost miss if we’re not paying attention.

A Small Blessing was created to honour those moments and to serve as a gentle reminder that care, gratitude, and kindness don’t need to be grand to be meaningful. Sometimes, the smallest offerings carry the greatest weight.

Our hope for you with this box is to invite you to pause, receive, and recognize the blessing in front of you, and to carry that feeling forward into your day.

Happy World Photography Day!
Five years of building Indigenous Box, and I am so thankful these moments were captured so I can look back and feel those moments again. From that very first media interview, with my young daughter sleeping on a blanket beside our packing table, moments after I quickly braided my hair and gave myself a pep talk, “You can do hard things,” I reminded myself, to our early experiments with assembly-line production.

There are so many reminders of abundance in these photos. Of growth. Of figuring things out as we went (still doing). And of the moments of major change and accomplishment that shaped Indigenous Box into what it is today.

I’m grateful someone was there to capture them for me.

Treaty 6: A Living Agreement

This year marks 150 Years of Relationship

In the late summer of 1876, on the banks of the North Saskatchewan River, Plains Cree, Assiniboine, Ojibwe, and Nakoda leaders made a covenant with the Crown; a living promise of peaceful coexistence and shared responsibility for the land.

There is a teaching I share about a half tree; one cut off from its full potential, denied the conditions it needed to grow. For generations, Indigenous peoples have known that experience. And yet, like that half tree, they grew anyway; carrying forward a legacy of shared abundance because the responsibility was too important to abandon.

This box is that legacy made tangible. Every product was made by an Indigenous artisan or entrepreneur who inherited both the weight of that history and the vision of something better; a world where our communities exist in equality and harmony.

We honour the spirit of Treaty 6 not only by remembering it, but by living it forward.
