Jaehyun used her PTO to hike and explore BC’s West Coast Trail, taking on the challenge of stream crossings, ladder climbs and balancing her pack across rickety features. Maybe it’s not everyone’s idea of “relaxing,” but when you love exploring and getting outside, there’s nowhere else you’d rather be.

PrimaLoft®, Coreloft™, FullRange™, EcoSoft… what does it all actually mean? 🧐

Synthetic insulation comes in a lot of different forms, each designed with different priorities in mind, from breathability and warmth to packability and performance in damp conditions.

But the technology itself is only one piece of the puzzle. The amount of insulation, outer fabric and overall construction all play a role in how a jacket performs. That means two jackets using the exact same insulation can feel and function very differently.

The takeaway? Don't get too caught up in the names. Think about what you need your jacket to do, and choose accordingly.

The MEC Toaster Suit has been keeping kiddos toasty coast to coast for 30+ years, but the one that fit last season might not fit your kiddo now. Before passing it along as a hand-me-down or trading it in in-store, there’s a sneaky little trick to get a few more adventures out of it.

The grow hem, found on the inside of the bottom cuff, is designed to be easily altered to give your little one a bit more growing room. Just roll up the cuff, use a seam ripper to undo the stitching, and you’re ready to go with a little extra length.

Whistler, Monty is moving in 🏔️

This fall, MEC is coming to Main Street in Whistler Village with a new kind of store designed specifically for the Sea to Sky.

→ A smaller footprint with gear curated for the activities and conditions of the Sea to Sky
→ Local expertise
→ Access to the full breadth of MEC beyond what’s on the floor
→ Soft opening planned for October 31

We’ve spent a lot of time in these mountains. We’re pretty excited to finally call them home.
