John Regehr held the position of head painter at Larrivee guitars for 30 years, where he worked with many different finish materials and techniques, especially mastering the process of working with UV cure Polyester. He spent many years prior touring as a professional guitar player, and is also an encyclopedia of vintage instruments. Guitar is his passion, and finishing guitars is his masterful craft. Rob Bustos:
Rob started his journey into guitar building in 1993, building electric guitars. In 1995, he began working at Larrivee guitars, and was a founding member of the Larrivee research and Development team, in which he gained much insight into the building process. Rob is best known for his work in Paragon Guitars, and previously Haida Gwaii Guitars, building high end custom acoustic guitars since 1998, to present. Rob has worked with UV finish for 10 years himself, and is known for producing World class instruments with a meticulous attention to detail. John and Rob began working together in March 2014, building a state of the art spray booth at the Paragon Guitars shop in North Vancouver, BC. In that time, they have perfected their techniques while serving a dedicated client list, and have now opened their doors to the general public.
