Empowering anyone anywhere to grow fresh, quality food for their family, friends and local communities with the Les Verts Terrace indoor hydroponic garden system.

Food security shouldn't depend on distance. All communities deserve access to fresh, nutritious food that's grown close to home. Whether you’re in an urban centre or in the most remote, northern community in Canada.

The better way is closer than you think.

Les Verts Living provides simple indoor growing systems that let communities produce meaningful quantities of fresh produce using existing spaces, standard power, and under 2 hours of effort per week. No permits, no retrofits, no specialists.

The Community Harvest System was designed to make community-scale food production easy and affordable. Start planting your first seeds within a day of when the system arrives to you. It’s that simple.

If your community is looking for practical ways to improve food security, we'd love to connect.

A head of lettuce flown into a remote northern community can cost $10 or more. A fresher, more nutritious head of lettuce grown locally with the Terrace Pro Community Harvest System costs $1.25 or less in input costs.

That’s not a rounding error. That’s a completely different relationship with food.

The Community Harvest System grows 60 heads of fresh lettuce (or other crops) every week using a room your community already has, powered by a standard electrical outlet, operated by anyone on your team in under 2 hours a week. No new infrastructure, no permitting, no technical expertise.

Could an unused room in your school, organization, or community become part of your food security strategy?

We've become used to calling produce "fresh" even after it's travelled hundreds or thousands of kilometres.

We think fresh should mean something different.

With the Terrace Pro, fresh means harvested when you’re ready to eat it – at the peak of quality and nutrition.

What does “fresh food” mean to you?

Fresh food starts losing nutrients the moment it's harvested and cut from its roots.

The lettuce you buy at the store was likely cut days or even weeks ago. Stuck in transport while its nutrition quietly disappears.

The Terrace Pro Indoor Garden harvests differently. Plants come out of the system with their roots still intact – still living, at the peak of nutrition, until the moment you’re ready to eat. Produce continues to stay fresh for weeks out of the system.

Growing food locally isn't just about convenience. It's about reducing waste, improving quality, and giving people access to food when it’s at its best.

How much fresh produce do you think gets wasted before it's ever eaten?

Communities shouldn't have to pay more for food simply because they're farther away.

Yet across Canada, many remote, rural, and northern communities face exactly that reality: higher prices, fewer choices, and produce that's already weeks old.

We built the Community Harvest System so any community in Canada can grow affordable produce year-round, using indoor space they already have. No new infrastructure or technical expertise required.

The solution to food insecurity doesn’t have to be shipped in. It can be grown right where you are. Learn more at the link below.

What are the biggest barriers to accessing fresh produce in your community? We'd love to hear your perspective.

That's a wrap! A big thank you to everyone at Food Banks BC for inviting us to their biannual conference this week in Nanaimo to showcase our community-scale food solutions to food bank members from across the province.

We had the privilege of speaking with so many amazing food bankers working tirelessly to overcome the many challenges that they face to continue serving their communities every single day.

It was truly inspiring and we look forward to supporting their work, particularly in rural, remote and northern regions where fresh produce is extremely limited and difficult to access.

Also: Congrats to Jaime from the Telegraph Harbour Marina - Thetis Island BC for purchasing the Terrace Indoor Garden we brought to the event! Check out their on-site cafe where they'll be growing fresh greens, herbs and more for their menu.
