We have wrapped up the poppy sales for another year. In total, 35 pins and badge reels were sold.

Thank you to everyone who supported our fundraiser, because of you another $300.00 was donated to the Captain Nichola Goddard Fund.

Where does the time go? I can't believe that we are in the last bits of October already. Everyone keeping busy and getting their Halloween costume prepared for the big day? I've been keeping myself busy with sewing for an upcoming Fall Market that my daughter-in-law convinced me to enter. If anyone is in the Glenella Area on November 8th, 2025 come and check it out. I will have Poppy pins available for sale that day!

November is just around the corner and with it Remembrance Day. We will once again be selling poppies to raise money for True Patriot Love in honor of Captain Nichola Goddard.

Since we started this campaign, we have been fortunate to be able to raise $2115.50 for this organization which is near and dear to our hearts as my son-in-law fought alongside Captain Goddard. 85% of total sales will once again be donated.

Another order that was sent to Cranbrook, BC. Janice is now ready for Easter and Halloween. It always pays to plan ahead!

WOW!!! This is crazy. Today I have had 5 scamming messages in response to my previous post. Who would have thought that Some Sweet Stitchery would be so popular with people in India, California, Chongjin (North Korea), and Texas. Totally beats my record of 3 scammers up until today.

Now if only I could figure out how to permanently block all of them.

These were sent to Courtenay, BC last Friday. I just heard they arrived today-well done, Canada Post!

I always love working with April Toews - she has such a knack for coming up with creative designs that her work community loves. Those Highland cows are absolutely adorable, and who can resist a flowery ghost? And of course, they are all set for St. Patrick's Day next week.

These badge reels are all done on vinyl which are easier to clean and hold up really well to the wear and tear of our workday use. Vinyl reels are available for $11.00 compared to the felt ones for $10.00

Did you know that you can clean up the fraying threads that sometimes show up around the end of the badge reel by running a quick flame from your lighter?

My view from my doorstep. Considering winter is not my favorite season, I must admit that it looks very beautiful out there.

Are you ready for the festivities of the next couple of weeks? Presents all wrapped, cookies for Santa baked? Always so much to do. For those who will be travelling, hope the roads and the weather cooperate. Be sure to stay safe.

Just wanted to take a moment to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Here's hoping that 2025 brings everyone health and happiness throughout the year.

To those who message and ask...are you still making badge reels. Yes, I know, I'm not active enough on the social media thing. Thank you for all your support during 2024. I aim to do better next year!

This week has been all about Christmas ornaments, and for once, I can proudly say that I’m ahead of schedule—well, almost. I’ve finished the ornaments for my grandkids and most of their teachers, save for one. This is a first for me. For as long as I can remember, my Christmas tradition has included staying up far too late on Christmas Eve, racing to finish a heartfelt project before morning. Whether it was a dress for my daughter or Batman pajamas for my son, those late-night endeavors are some of my fondest memories.

Now, I find myself in a new and equally rewarding chapter of life, where I cherish the opportunity to create keepsakes for my grandchildren. It’s such a joy to craft unique, personalized ornaments they can treasure for years to come. Even more fulfilling is helping other mothers and grandmothers bring their own visions to life—spreading a little extra magic during the holiday season.

Working on some new Christmas design badge reels for 2024. Still need to tweak things a bit, but it's getting there. I don't half mind the green background, will likely be white in the final stitching. I just thought it would be easier to see the white on the Christmas calories one. Yep, that's a stray cut piece of black thread on the lightbulb. I didn't see it until I had posted it, oh well.

Hope everyone is enjoying the winter weather we are having right now. Makes me glad that I can stay inside and just work on these designs on a day like today. Tell me what you think, do you like the green or would white be a better color choice for the background?

We had another successful poppy fundraiser this year. A total of 53 pins & badge reels were sold. Thank you to everyone who purchased and helped to support True Patriot Love, Captain Nichola Goddard Fund.

I greatly appreciate each and everyone of you. We couldn't do it without you! Thanks again! A special thank you to April Toews and Heather Maki who arranged bulk orders for their place of employment.
