It was a "let's test my glass breaking skills with these deep curves" kind of day! I'm happy to report 100% success rate using only my toyo cutter and my grozing pliers.

Come spend a few hours with us on July 17th at the Parkwood Estate in Oshawa, learning how to foil and solder these bits into finished stained glass bee suncatchers. Enjoy the experience on your own or bring a friend.

Afterwards, have a look around the beautiful gardens of this 11 acre property... pretty sure you'll find a stunning backdrop for a quick post-workshop 🐝 photo op!

Another first for Feather and Fibres this coming Saturday, as BeeCraft Supply & Studio in Ajax, will serve as host location to a keen group ready to break glass and create their suncatchers from very beginning to end. Glass, cutting tools, grinders, everything you need for stained glass, is (nearly) packed and ready to go.

I couldn't be more excited to see how this little stained glass dream keeps on giving, and I can't wait to see how this grows...glows? I mean goes!!

My eyes saw more potential in the sum of its parts... so I deconstructed it and learned a little bit more about how lamps are made!

I'm also quite keen on that wispy glass which I will quite wrongly refer to as "gentle pink" and be absolutely okay with it!

Once they get a solid clean, you might be finding evidence of these delightful bits in the stained glass pieces I make or as some of the options to pick from during workshops :)

This would be a great time to have a look at said workshop listings, especially those that will run out of with and I in Oshawa this summer...

First timers and returning glassers joined us this weekend in Oshawa for a lovely series of stained glass workshops. From initial glass choices, foiling and soldering to that excited moment seeing freshly polished suncatchers held up for the first time?! It's awesome feeling.
