Listen, there's specific solicitation text that hypes this up and it all sounds pretty good, but all you really need to hear is that it's taking something resembling The Last Ronin approach to the Green Ranger. The last Power Ranger in a post apocalyptic world has to come out of retirement one last time. It's straightforward and likely going to be all kinds of cool. If you think you'll like it, you'll probably love it.

We've been getting a lot of wild crossovers lately, but Cammy vs. Bloodshot feels like a fever dream while simultaneously making perfect sense.

Totally self selecting. You're either totally uninterested or just said some variation of "Hell yeah dude" and went to League to preorder it. If you're the latter, don't worry, I'm right there with you.

BUFFY IS BACK! Dynamite picked up the license and they've done the coolest thing possible, getting Kelly Thompson to bring the Absolute Wonder Woman magic to Buffy (and Angel coming soon). She's promised that the series will be built for old and new fans both, with a hook that will land in the first issue which she is stressing is huge and will be spoiled fast. Normally, I'm wary of creator hyperbole but Kelly is a real one so I trust that she's bringing it for this one. Preorder it, pick it up on the Wednesday, don't find out what happens via social media.

Alright, here's the catchup. In the alternate future from Age of Revelation, there was a virus that turned ordinary people into mutants...mostly. It also killed a bunch. Scott came back with the knowledge to prevent it...but so did the Evil Beast from Krakoa (who was mistaken for normal Beast). As a result, he's now planning to roll out that virus and Scott and the X-Men need to find a way to avert the future they saw. It's got a lot of the classic X-Men elements and I'm curious how it all plays out.

Also, this is a blind bag book! We're ordering a little lighter on blind bags out of concern for overexposure so if you want one (or more), get those preorders in!

You know the deal with the Hellfire events at this point. Fancy mutant party, cool outfits, something wild happens. This year gives us Wolverine and Jubilee playing detectives to try and solve a locked room murder mystery. Logan as a detective is a really smart bit honestly (given his enhanced senses) and this is a really fun way to do something with the concept. Really excited to see how this one turns out.

The Queen in Black is pretty reserved as far as these types of events go, but if you're going to check out one, the one that goes deeper into what one of the primary villains has been up to is probably the one. Learning more about Hela's plans and actions wrapped in a mystery of Balder figuring it out is a really tidy little tie-in premise and this should be a good one overall.

Dark Knights of Steel is a big part of why we got Elseworlds back. DC had been playing with alternate timelines, but it was all closer to "What If?" than the more dramatic ideas from Elseworlds. Then Tom Taylor wrote a story of the DC Universe by way of Arthurian fantasy and the path was set. We've been waiting years for the sequel and now it's here. Whether you're returning or starting here, it should be just as good a ride as the first one was.

This one is an underappreciated classic. Arguably Bill Finger's best Batman story (or very close to it) and a huge influence in Grant Morrison's Batman run (the best Batman run, I'll die on that hill), it's a fantastic story that's got surprising punch given the year of original publication. I don't want to spoil much if you haven't checked it out, but if there's one classic Batman story I'd describe as a hidden gem, it's this one.

The Kai-Sei Era stuff IDW has been pumping out has been some of the coolest Godzilla stuff at a time when we're getting a lot of Godzilla stuff, but this title is the one that has me most excited. A story set in 1954 giving us the Kai-Sei Godzilla's origin with a full on horror feel? This is absolutely made for me and I cannot wait to get my hands on it. There's a lot of Godzilla books right now, but if you're only going to read one, I'd go for this one personally.

The Clayface movie is one of the things I'm more excited about in superhero film. It's such a wild swing, especially at this stage of universe building and I'm hyped for it. But we also get a media tie-in miniseries which looks like it'll both redefine his origin and tell a new tale of him having to deal with an imposter Basil Karlo. If it can bring some of the horror themes we're seeing lined up in the film, this one should be an absolute heater.
