Been busy with my second pregnancy, fetal surgery, premature birth, NICU stay, and then enjoying having my second-born finally come home, all before COVID-19 caused the lockdown here in Ontario. In the recent weeks, I've had time to revisit friendship bracelets. I made some back in my teen years but I believe my most complicated pattern was a heart pattern. Now, I've discovered the joys of loops and triangle ends and it makes all the difference, in my opinion.
The first bracelet was made with mostly craft thread, but I didn't have any white and now that COVID-19 is a thing, I don't just go out willy-nilly to get an item that I want, I try to make something I already have work. I had some size 3 crochet thread in white, so I used that. Craft thread is smaller, so the bracelet has an interesting texture, but I love the result no less. Unfortunately, the difference in thread size also seems to have affected the amount of thread needed, so, it turned out too small for my wrist. My niece is going to get that one.
The next bracelets were a first attempt where I cut the strings shorter than needed and a second attempt where I got it right. Now my husband and son have matching bracelets.
The third bracelet is one that I am now wearing as I managed to do pretty well with string length. I did end up adding in some blue near the very end as I was running out of length, but otherwise I calculated a healthy amount.
