Throwback to the past two annual juried exhibitions put on by the Ottawa Guild of Potters! My chess set was featured in 2024, and my lamp in 2025. The event works this way: members of the guild are encouraged to submit their very best work. It can be sculptural or functional - there is no theme or limit. We bring them to the venue on the first day of the show, and a guest juror selects the pieces that will be featured in the exhibition. This all happens on day one! Selected items are set up, the exhibition opens later that same day and runs for the rest of the weekend. Is it scary to submit? Of course! Would I be sad if my pieces didn’t make the cut? Yes! For every piece of mine you’ve seen, two have not made it into the show. Is it awkward to invite people to attend a show that I 🤞hope🤞 I will be featured in but won’t know until shortly before? Yeah, definitely... But here is your invite anyway!
The Annual Juried Exhibition runs from 3pm Friday May 1st to 3pm Sunday May 3rd. I hope you’ll come see the beautiful creations of my fellow Ottawa potters and I hope my work will be part of the show! I’m so grateful for the challenge and opportunity to put forward my more ambitious projects. See you there!
