So, just got ripped off by a customer for the very first time.
He had a pickup that didn't work when it got here.
During preflight I metered the output, got nothing off the lead pickup.
On a continuity test, I found the pickup had a cold solder joint to ground on the switch.
re-soldered the connection at the switch.
Tested it three time - on the bench, the playing test after set-up and the next morning.
It functioned perfectly all three times.
He picked it up, but had no time to stop at the bank. said he pay me on Monday.
He called me an two hours later and said it didn't work.
It's Wednesday.
I just messaged him.
Said he's ordered a new pickup and he's not paying me because I didn't fix it.
Then he said sent me this: "I will tell everyone how terrible technician you . On the top you charge me with tax and you demand cash
Basically, you’re cheating"
I don't charge tax.
A percentage of what I charge is flagged for my records, as is stated on the invoice.
Also: I offer a 90 day warranty on all work, which is also clearly stated on the invoice.
Great start to the day...
