Howdy!
In a previous life I was a 911 dispatcher. Shortly after returning to work from maternity leave, I dealt with a particularly traumatic call which led to a PTSD diagnosis. One of the debilitating symptoms I experience is migraines and sensory issues.
My candle making journey started with making unscented structural candles as occupational therapy. After 4 years of dealing with this life altering diagnosis I still couldn't handle many fragrances. I would get migraines, severe nausea and would have to lie down after trying to burn a scented candle from big stores.
Once my sensory issues became more manageable, I kept up with candle making and spent 6 months testing different fragrance companies to find something that didn't cause me issues. Eventually N|D Candle Co. was born and soft-launched in 2023!
Today, I make MadeBetter Certified candles using earth-friendly wax, luxury fragrance oils and wood wicks from Forest-Stewardship Council approved mills.
When I am not making candles I am a wife and a mom to the best kid in the world and 2 big doggies.
That's it for now!
With love,
Michele-Laure
PS. Tell your dog I said hi!
