Two FIFA games being played in Canada today - Portugal vs Croatia in Toronto; and Switzerland vs Algeria in Vancouver.

Why not celebrate with a national dessert from each country?
- Pastel de Nata, an egg custard tart, from Portugal (via wiki commons)
- Rožata, a flan type treat flavoured with rose liqueur called "rozulin", from Croatia (via croatia.hr)

To all our most loyal followers, please be aware we've updated our hours. Wednesdays and Thursdays have shifted to now be open an hour later, and we've added an extra hour on Sundays. Rejoice!

Our hours are now:
Monday & Tuesday: 9-5
Wednesday & Thursday: 10-6
Friday: 9-5
Saturday: 10-5
Sunday: 11-5

Hello everyone, and an almost immediate goodbye, because we'll be closed tomorrow.

It's been dizzyingly busy chez Maps, what with the FIFA and camping season and so forth, so staff's all jumping ship for Canada Day. Possibly literally, depending on how hot it is, and their proximity to a boat.

You're welcome to stop by and gaze longingly through the window, silently wishing it weren't a holiday so you could buy the lighthouse puzzle you now desperately covet. (I say "welcome"; we can't actually stop you.)
