I found out that an esteemed colleague in our comic book retailing world passed away today. I first met Rob Spittall when he worked for the Comic Book Shoppe on Clyde Avenue, and then he eventually moved over to manage the Bank Street store for many years. We always had great conversations about comics, and the joy we had in helping customers find books to encourage the same passion we had for our industry. We worked together several times to find that book our client needed, and even for our own personal collection at times. When we would see each other in our respective stores or at various conventions, he was always there with a smile, a handshake and a hug. Over the years our meetings always ended with him saying “you are loved” or “love you” because he truly valued those friendships and the time he spent with everyone. You can ask anyone in the industry, they will tell you how great a human being Rob was. My condolences go out to his two daughters and his family & friends, he will be greatly missed and the world is now a little darker without his presence. Rob, you are forever loved ❤️
