Hey Ottawa people! 👋

Putting out a feeler here…

We’re settling in nicely in Kanata South and have a few options on the table for where to set up the neck-making workshop — but thought I’d check with the community first:

Does anyone know of a workshop space for rent/lease? Looking for 250–500 sq ft (more is fine too), in a building that’s cool with occasional saxophone play-testing and light machining.

Any leads appreciated! 🎷🪵

Our move to Ottawa, Canada has been progressing well. We are busy unpacking and getting everything organized. After 26 years in NYC, it is incredible how much we have accumulated - both shop-stuff and private! 😅

Full circle!

Ravi Coltrane!! 🤩
When KB Sax opened the doors for sax repair in NYC back in 2010, Ravi was one of the first out of the many, many players who became regular clients and trusted us with their horns.

As I began developing our KB Sax necks in 2013, Ravi was one of an early handful of top players, who helped the process with invaluable feedback, playing prototype #5 for 3 months on one of his SBAs before switching to one of the first regular production necks I made.

To have been able to develop saxophone necks that makes players switch from their original vintage Selmer necks (or modern production necks), simply would never have happened without the feedback and “road-testing” of players like Ravi. His deep and critical perception of the sound, the tonal feedback and the response, developed over his numerous decades of commitment to the saxophone, has to a great degree informed my own knowledge and understanding of what makes a great neck.

So it was indeed a full-circle moment the other day, when Ravi became the last person to visit and play in our NYC shop before we closed up and moved.

Deeply honored to have been afforded this ongoing opportunity to work with Ravi and grateful beyond words for the friendship that over the years has ensued 🙏🙏🙏

Today is officially the last day to order a handcrafted KB Sax neck directly from our shop. As most of you know, we’re officially packing up the tools and starting our relocation to Canada! 📦✈️
If you’ve been waiting to pull the trigger on a specific neck, today is the deadline to get your order in before we pause direct sales. We’ll be busy getting our new studio up and running, but we look forward to reopening for direct orders once we’re settled in later this year. 🍁

April 1st is the last day to place a direct order with us for a Handcrafted Saxophone Neck — at least for now. We’re working on getting our Canadian operations up and running later this year! 🎷✨

April 1st, 2026, will be the LAST day to place a saxophone neck order directly through our website UNTIL OUR CANADIAN OPERATION IS UP AND RUNNING LATER IN 2026. This is temporary and we appreciate your patience during this period.

While our direct shop is temporarily offline, our expanding dealer network (USA: CA, IA, MA, MI, NY; INT’L: AUS, CANADA, FR, ISRAEL, JP, MX) remains fully available to you (please see our website for details). Our partners are well-stocked and continue to be the best way to secure our handcrafted necks while our workshop is in transit.
