e Owner, Chris, is an outdoor sports enthusiast, river guide, and kayak instructor who has always had a keen eye for a bargain. After a long career as an IT professional and some time studying Civil Engineering, Chris realized he wanted a career sharing his love for sports and getting great deals. The sports he’s most passionate about are cross country and downhill mountain biking, white-water kayaking (instructor and guide level 2), and downhill skiing/snowboarding.Likewise, he decided he would base his store around these sports and by popular demand would include a few others. Wild North offers a large selection of new and lightly used sporting goods that includes mountain bikes and parts, stand-up paddleboards, kayaks and canoes (for flat water OR white-water), downhill skis, snowboards, and snowshoes. In winter 2017/18 we hope to include cross country skis in our fleet. Chris is also a qualified ski and bike mechanic. Wild North offers wax and sharpening services for skis and snowboards, and light tune-ups for bikes. Wild North will only sell lightly used gear in great or better condition. This will allow our shoppers to ride almost new, high end gear, at entry level prices!!!

I'm sure you've noticed Wild North has been quiet for over 6 months now.
Many of you may have already guessed this was coming, but it is my unfortunate duty to officially inform my most excellent customers and supporters, that Wild North Gear will be selling all of it's stock, and closing it's doors for good.
While there is a strong market for used goods in Ottawa, I simply didn't have the time, energy, and capital investment to take on such a huge endeavor, and maybe bit off more than I could chew. In the same breath, this was partly a blessing in disguise, as being a new father, not running the store has given me time to be with my family.

This brings me to my big, very exciting announcement for you!!!. As I mentioned, I have LOTS of stock to sell, and I need to sell it fast, so I'm Holding a sale THIS SATURDAY, to unload everything I own!!! Everything will be sold AT COST!!! So yes, the amazing deals I was getting on demo products, will be going directly to YOU!

I will be posting a list of products that is available throughout the week.

If you are one of my consignors, I will be attempting to sell your goods as well, after the sale we can discuss it's timely return.
