The May Court Club of Ottawa facility has been the fortunate location for a University of Ottawa Heart Institute presentation and heart screening mobile clinic. The second and last scheduled clinic screening was this past Wednesday. As the nurse representative said, we screen for breast cancer, colon , etc etc but there has not been a screening for heart health. The Heart Institute is now doing it and may be an international leader in this effort - the 1 Million Canadian Hearts. For the people who signed up and went through the questionnaire, blood test, waist measurement, and possible mini ECG and mini ultrasound (along with other indicators such as diet and weight, sigh......) the 20 minutes of time may save their lives. Thank you to the Heart Institute for setting out to screen 1 Million Canadian Hearts.

This week at the Bargain Box - September 8-12, 2026. It was a good day to go shoot some fun store stock. The incoming manager was there to check on why we have so much fun. She even posed for a photo. We tried to find some colourful and fun items to show you. Hope you make it to the shop to see for yourself.

This week at the Bargain Box - August 11 - August 15. The three week sale is now over and the store is fully stocked with some new fun items. What is this post's theme - well one look outside and it was a toss up between sunny / hot and raining so we mixed it up. Hope you like what we are showing and drop in to shop the store.
