Princess Margriet is coming home!

How exciting is this? Princess Margriet is officially visiting the Tulip Festival!

Born right here in Ottawa during WWII, her visit is the ultimate symbol of the bond between the Netherlands and Canada. It doesn’t get more special than this.

It’s going to be an unforgettable year at the festival!

We’re honoured to host Her Royal Highness Princess Margriet of the Netherlands for the opening ceremony of this year’s Canadian Tulip Festival at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 9th, at Commissioners Park. We invite the public to join us, our very special guest, and our honoured Canadian Veterans for our Official Opening Ceremony!

KINGSDAY: IMPORTANT UPDATE

We know the feeling: the orange outfit is laid out, the craving for poffertjes and fries is real, and you’re ready to celebrate. We were all set to host you this Saturday for King’s Day, but the inspector couldn’t make it in time.

This means our King’s Day event this Saturday is officially on hold. Het is flink b***n (we are truly bummed)! But as we say back home: “Wat in het vat zit, verzuurt niet.” (What is kept in the barrel does not sour). Meaning: we will postpone the event!

The New Plan

We are moving our big celebration to June! Is it a delayed King’s Day? An early World Cup party? Or just a summer kick off? Whatever we call it, the extra time means we’ll have even more experience under our belts to make it perfect for you. Plus, the Canadian weather will actually be on our side by then!
