Hey you, throw your hat in the ring! There was a time that I was so happy to reach 100 applicants for a market. We just got 175 in one day. Taking a sec to celebrate how many talented, ambitious, bold entrepreneurs we have in Ottawa and around us.

The application is only open for one week (closing on the 17th). Ottawa makers and producers are 👌🏻

Il fut un temps où j’étais tellement contente d’atteindre les 100 candidatures pour un marché. Et voilà qu’on vient d’en recevoir 175 en une seule journée.

Je prends juste un petit moment pour célébrer tous les entrepreneurs talentueux, ambitieux et audacieux qu’on retrouve à Ottawa et dans les environs. ❤️

Applications are open for our 11th annual HOLIYAY market 8th at the National Arts Centre ) - link is live in our profile. Established & emerging brands welcome… we try to welcome 30% new-to-us brands at each & every market! Don’t be afraid to throw your hat in the ring). We look for a clear brand story, great product quality & community oriented folks. Deadline to apply is September 17th. We had a record breaking 240 applicants in the spring, make sure you get your app in!

How it started… swipe to see how it’s going!

It feels like we’ve all liked 5 different lives since then. are OG’s in the maker community - all 3 have been making and creating for over a dozen years… and all vendors at our first ever market in 2015.

They are still thriving because of you Ottawa, and a real testament to the power of resilience & creativity, and what is possible

11 years, 11 spring markets - and they just keep getting better. As a market producer, we can only do so much. Pick the right date & venue. Attract good applicants. Curate a banger lineup. Be a good organizer. And market & promote as best we can.

Then it’s up to you. The vendors that show up as their best brand ambassadors X the shoppers that show up ready to support local creative small businesses. And then sprinkle in a bit of good luck with the right weather & other factors.

This weekend, it all came together beautifully. And we couldn’t be more grateful.

But something bigger happened. I started to enjoy this again. After covid, this really wasn’t fun anymore. The uncertainty. The collective angst. The changing dynamics and how we did things. And just not knowing if people would show up really left me considering how many more I had in me. I’ve always said as long as makers & shoppers keep showing up, I’ll keep going. And this past weekend, we live to see another day

This is year 11. And the power of keeping your dollars in your local economy continues to be as important as it was over a decade ago .cna .street
