Ottawa collectors and fantasy fans, clear your shelves. We just finished processing an incredible collection of rare, mid-century Middle-earth lore and classic sci-fi books. Every book on this list is a vintage treasure, including several rare Canadian printings from the 1960s and 70s! 🍁

🍁 THE 1960s "CANADIAN CAMPUS" PAPERBACK SETS
The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (Circa 1967): A complete, matching 3-volume Ballantine paperback set featuring the iconic, surreal Barbara Re*****on cover art. Includes the rare dual US/Canadian printing copyright lines inside!
Bored of the Rings (1969): The legendary Harvard Lampoon satire, explicitly marked "Printed in Canada." It shares the exact same counter-culture design era as the main trilogy.
The Tolkien Reader (Oct 1966): A beautiful, scarce 3rd printing featuring the gorgeous wrap-around cover art by Tolkien’s favourite illustrator, Pauline Baynes.

We have added a few new titles to the shelf! You may have noticed a very small selection of brand new books at our Riverside South Location. A few customers have expressed that they would prefer to purchase from us rather than the big box stores or online. As they are new from the publisher, they are cover price.

We can also order new books, just send us a message and we’ll check to see if it’s something we can get for you!

This is more of an experiment than anything, and we appreciate any thoughts or input our customers have. We have access to various Canadian publishers and will bring in a few popular titles - yes, that includes the new Sarah J. Maas and Rebecca Yarros titles coming out this fall 😉
