Not to be rude but you wouldn't be hiring us if you knew how to have the piano moved. Actually you do know how, you called us. The absolute best help you can give us at this point, is no help at all. Other than telling us where you want the piano moved. The rest is up to us. And this guide will explain why. Following it will guarantee your piano move is done as safe as it could be. But before I continue, I will say that there is some help that is greatly appreciated. But this help is done before we even arrive. I'll list those at the end of this post.
It is crucial not to distract piano movers and to give them ample space for several important reasons:
1. Safety: Moving a piano is a physically demanding and delicate task. Piano movers need to focus on their job to ensure the safety of both themselves and the piano. Any distraction can disrupt their concentration, increasing the risk of accidents, injuries, or damage to the piano and surrounding property.
2. Precision: Pianos are intricate and sensitive instruments. Even a small mistake during the moving process can lead to significant damage to the piano's internal components or its exterior. Movers require concentration to execute each step of the move with precision and care.
3. Efficiency: Piano movers typically work as a team and follow a well-coordinated plan to move the piano efficiently and safely. Distractions can disrupt their workflow, slow down the process, and potentially result in higher costs for the move.
4. Stress Reduction: Moving a piano is already a stressful task due to its unique shape and mass. By giving piano movers space and allowing them to work without distractions, you can help reduce their stress levels, which, in turn, enhances their ability to perform the job effectively.
5. Liability: If distractions or interference lead to accidents, damage, or delays during the piano move, the person responsible for the distractions may be held liable for any resulting costs or damages. It's in everyone's best interest to avoid such situations.
6. Professionalism: Piano movers are skilled professionals who take their work seriously. Respecting their expertise, providing them with the necessary space, and refraining from distractions demonstrate professionalism and courtesy.
In summary, not distracting piano movers and providing them with plenty of space is essential to ensure the safe and efficient transport of a piano. It helps minimize the risk of accidents and damage while also respecting the expertise and professionalism of the movers. If you have any specific concerns or instructions for the movers, it's best to communicate those before they begin their work, so they can execute the move successfully and without unnecessary interruptions.
PS, from experience, your dog barking in the other room is a major distraction. Most movers are fine with dogs, many are dog owners. Let the dog meet the movers so it'll stop barking. And if that doesn't work, take the dog outside. These are the only two safe options.
Still looking for something to help with. The following list are things that will not only save time, but make the piano move even safer.
1(for winter months) always have a 3-ft wide path clear and free of ice from the front door to the sidewalk. This is great help for any delivery but pianos especially.
2 kids and pets. We love them both. But they have no business being anywhere near us. While we're moving. Your piano. Try to have them occupied elsewhere, out on a playdate perhaps. And for Dog barking, as mentioned earlier, needs to be silenced or removed from the property. Otherwise it's only creating a dangerous situation.
3 declutter, try to have all items within 3 ft. Radius of the piano removed and like the snow in winter, a 3-ft wide path clear from the piano to the front door or whichever door has the easiest access to the road or laneway.
Thanking you in advance,
