Art After School starts next week! Have you registered your kiddos yet?

September 21 to 24 we have a variety of different programs starting. The 4 week "Art After School" sessions are 4 weeks long and are divided into 3 age groups.
Mondays, 4:30 to 5:15pm, the 5 to 7 yr olds, $60. https://upwardsartstudio.com/event/art-after-school-ages-5-7-7/
Tuesdays, 4:30 to 5:30pm, the 8 to 10 yr olds, $80.

Have you been wanting to learn how to draw?

Join instructor Lesley Bankes of Curvey Lines Art School at Upwards Art for a beginner-friendly introduction to realistic drawing. Drawing is a skill that can be learned and developed with practice, and this class will give you a strong foundation to continue building your skills. No previous drawing experience is needed. This workshop is designed to help beginners understand the building blocks of realistic drawing and develop skills they can continue practising long after the class.

Six weekly sessions on Mondays starting September 28. This class is specifically made for adult however children age 12+ are welcome to register with a parent.

Dates: September 28, and October 5, 19, 26, and November 2 and 9.

Here's your opportunity to learn how to get the colours you want without the mixture turning to the colour of mud! Join Sara Durning in this three-hour, hands-on workshop. She will introduce you to her signature Mud-Free Colour Mixing™ method and show you how understanding what is actually in your paint can help you make more confident colour choices.

This workshop is suitable for beginners through experienced painters and offers plenty of time for hands-on experimentation, guidance, and conversation.

Join us at Upwards for the first instalment of Art Goes to the Movies, a new film series featuring documentaries and films exploring artists, art history, creative movements, and the people and stories behind the art.

Our first screening is By Woman’s Hand, Pepita Ferrari’s 1994 documentary about the women artists of Montreal’s Beaver Hall Hill Group.

Come watch the film, learn a little Canadian art history, and spend an evening with other people interested in art and creativity.

Date: Friday, September 25 from 7:00–9:00 PM
Admission FREE or Pay-What-You-Can. No previous knowledge of art or art history required.
