June is an exciting month at Upwards!

We have a wide variety of workshops coming up all month! On top of that we are participating in two events.
We'll be at the 2nd Annual Big Gay Block Party on Saturday June 13 in the Owen Sound River District, a Grey Bruce Pride/ and event.

Also we will be hosting a Used Art Supply Sale in the gallery next door to Upwards Art in the Heritage Place Shopping Centre on June 20 from 10am to 12pm with all proceeds going to Artcures Grey Bruce.

This Saturday, May 30, is the day! There are just a couple of spaces remaining! Sign up today!

We're happy to have Kari Bronaugh of Bochord Bookbinding back in our studio! Her next workshop is coming up on Saturday May 30 from 12:30 - 4:30pm. The Saddleback book is a great introduction to some of the techniques common to hand bookbinding! Folding, punching, sewing on supports, creating end papers – all will come together to allow you to make a sturdy & long-lasting journal! This book will be covered in gorgeous handmade paper from the St. Armand Mill in Quebec. The paper is made from recycled cotton clothing, so the colours are earthy and unique. The book will have 144 pages and be sized about 14 cm h x 22 cm w. Great for writing or sketching – ideal for pens/ink & coloured pencils.

Beginners are welcome!
