Sebastian Ostertag on cello and Ron Greidanus on piano
Noon August 26th at Georgian Shores United Church

Raised in Owen Sound, Ontario, cellist Sebastian Ostertag combines rich musical traditions, and with a strong commitment to community service and artistic outreach. He received his Bachelor of Music from Western University, an Artist Diploma from the Glenn Gould School at the Royal Conservatory of Music, and a Master of Music at the University of Toronto, studying with acclaimed cellists Shauna Rolston and Joseph Johnson.
A passionate chamber musician, Sebastian performs throughout Ontario, Quebec and the American Midwest as a founding member of the Toronto based Interro Quartet.

Pianist Ron Greidanus has performed as a recitalist, chamber musician and soloist with orchestras including the Vancouver Philharmonic, Rochester Philharmonic, Kitchener-Waterloo Chamber Orchestra, Sault Symphony Orchestra and Brampton Symphony. Solo Recitals include performances in the Rachmaninoff festivals in London England, Orlando Florida, and Vienna Austria. In addition to solo piano performances, Ron Greidanus has also established himself as a conductor specializing in Baroque performance practices. Upon his return to Canada after studies in the Netherlands, he founded his own chamber choir and orchestra -The Georgetown Bach Chorale.

Joachim Ostertag the Flute and Music in My Life

Joachim studied classical flute performance and music therapy in Germany. He performed locally and abroad and worked as a music therapist with children and adults. Joachim was the founder of the Noon Hour Series and is looking forward to be part of the program again.

The Jazz Project
Tom Connor, who has been keeping the jazz Vibraphone tradition alive for sorry years now. Tom and seasoned veteran bass player Stuart Steinhart are looking forward to an afternoon of improvisational adventures. From Straight up and Latin Jazz, with some funky beats and a basket or two thrown , Tom and Stuart will be paying some original compositions and jazz standards by the greats.

Gary Santucci has been composing and performing Classical guitar since studying the technique in Spain in the '70s.
His passion to create and re-arrange his own music to always share fresh and interesting new projects everywhere is his hallmark.
The breadth of Gary's talents crosses many fields - music, theatre, teaching; composing & arranging for opera, concert, symphony and solo artists in any musical genre !
Gary is currently giving classical guitar/finger picking technique lessons in Owen Sound at the Harmony Centre. He loves performing solo or as an accompanist at local markets, cafes and many entertainment venues on the peninsula as well as ''down country'' GTA and Hamilton (where he was born and raised). Many thanks for this opportunity to share his love of classical guitar with you today in this series at Georgian Shores !

AnnMarie Rowland is a singer, songwriter, author, and collector of antique quilts. “I can’t leave those old ones alone,” she says. “They’re full of stories.”

Born and raised in Michigan, her Dad handed her a yard-sale guitar when she was 11 years old, and that gift changed everything for her. Within a few months she was writing her own songs, and the rest is history. Music has taken coast to coast in the US, and from the north shore of Lake Superior to the Gulf of Mexico.

Her love of quilts began at the feet of her grandmother, who sewed quilts by hand for the family, and for charity.

In the true folk music tradition, AnnMarie’s songs tell stories torn from the pages of her life, from history, from people she meets along the way…and quilts.

She believes that music and quilts have a common ability to bring people together, build community, and preserve stories. It's all about the stories!

AnnMarie immigrated from Michigan to Canada in 2022. She resides in Owen Sound, Ontario with her husband Steve, and their cat, Henrietta.

Calum has been an active freelance double bassist in southwestern Ontario since the mid 2000’s,
primarily performing with orchestras and small ensembles specializing in the baroque, classical and
contemporary repertoire. Previously a long standing member of Sinfonia Toronto and the Talisker
Players he now resides in West Grey and has played four recent seasons as principal double bassist
of the Georgian Bay Symphony, as well as keeping up a busy freelance career.

Lucia Barcari performs Wednesday, July 22nd at noon

Lucia Barcari is concertmaster of the Georgian Bay Symphony, and founding member of Decus Duo, Lucia Barcari is a versatile violinist with a special affinity for collaborative projects in diverse genres and ensembles. She enjoys an active career as an orchestral leader, recording artist, chamber musician, and folk violinist, throughout Canada and Europe. In 2023, she produced and released the album “Piazzolla Pizzazz,” in collaboration with international guitarist Roman Smirnov, featuring works by the legendary tango composer Astor Piazzolla. A skilled tango violinist, Lucia is a member of Amarras Tango Quintet, commissioning and premiering “Immigration Suite” by Luis Ramirez in 2022.
Committed to educating a new generation of musicians and audiences, Ms. Barcari has worked with Sistema Toronto, a philanthropic organization created to enhance the social development of children through music education. An active orchestral musician for over twenty years, she has served as concertmaster for the Ottawa Valley Music Festival, Peterborough Symphony Orchestra and Nuove Musiche in Belgium. Born in Chișinău, Moldova, was admitted to the Music School for Talented Children at the age of seven, and later won the Moldovan National Music Competition. She immigrated to Canada in 1996 and became a Canadian citizen in 2000.
