As the winter drags on, and the warmth of spring seems to stretch further and further into the distance behind more cold and dreary days, I think everyone could use a little something to warm and re-energize themselves through these last few chilly weeks. That's why we here at the Pastime Goldmine are pleased to bring Saltwinds Coffee Company coffee to our store shelves!
Saltwinds Coffee Company is a Canadian coffee roaster based in New Brunswick that strives to recreate the historic flavour of coffee beans shipped to Canada aboard wooden ships exposed to salty sea air. Their unique salt-air infusion process brings out a smoother, more flavourful and less bitter coffee that I can personally attest to being absolutely delicious! In a variety of roasts and flavours, and in both whole bean and ground formats, we have a roast for all the coffee drinkers in your life. Come check them out yourself and enjoy!

While I was at the Toronto Gift Show this year, I spotted these puzzles from a Berlin-based gallery called Zozoville. They depict highly detailed, bizarre, almost grotesque monstrous creatures that are, somehow, also incredibly endearing and strangely adorable. What could I do? I had to get them in! I've ridden the old mine cart all the way to Toronto to fill it up with new goodies at the Toronto Gift Show to bring back to the Goldmine!

PS my rickety mine cart in downtown Toronto is bringing me back to the old Donkey Kong Country days!

If you've got kids in your life, it's a fair guess that you've probably heard of PlasmaCars before; the self propelled, swiveling, speedy little go-karts that all kids love to race around on. For the past 12 years, whenever a customer asks “Do you have any Lego?”, I've always had to say “No, sorry.” It's just not feasible for a small business like us to get in the kind of volume of inventory that was required to carry it. We've been happy to carry (and will continue to) a number of brands of competing high quality, lower priced compatible building block sets, but for some people, the name brand really matters.
